The Dezz Effect!

When I began blogging over a year ago I had no understanding how much my world would change as a result of putting my words out into cyberspace.  Initially, I began with the thought that I would help others; let them know that they weren’t alone out there.  Over time however, others have helped me in ways that they may not even realize through their blogs and through their comments.

One of those people is Dezmond from HOLLYWOOD SPY.  Dezz’s blog has some of the best exclusives from the movies and television; he gets exclusive trailers and the hottest (and sexiest) pictures of Hollywood’s finest.  Each and every day Dezz updates his blog with the latest and greatest information.

It’s a blog that quite frankly, would scare me to pieces just a few months ago.  Why?  Well, I’m still battling my trigger with the movies.  (I’ll talk about that in separate post).  I’m so glad Anne recommended his blog to me!

Dezz doesn’t highlight every latest and greatest Hollywood hit.  He has a moral compass that he sticks to and has helped me slowly ease my way back into the world of movies.  A world I truly missed.  Dezz doesn’t like darkness and morbidity; he likes light, beauty and happiness and this is what he highlights on his blog…along with The Walking Dead, Game of Thrones, and other shows I’m addicted too.

Dezz surprised me.  He has a large following and is quite a busy man, yet, he not only commented back to me on his blog but then took the time to read my long, rambling posts and not just say a word or two, but really provide me with words of wisdom, encouragement, enlightenment and sometimes, when necessary, a gentle reminder to stay the course.  Dezz doesn’t have to take time out of his day for me, but he always does.

By doing these things, by being a positive force of nature, on his blog and on my blog (and everyone else’s for that matter), Dezz has slowly given me the power back to face watching a trailer for a movie again.  (Yes, the trigger was that deep to becoming a phobia.)  I’ve watched trailers on Dezz’s blog with Devin, something that I was unable to do. Soon I’ll be able to watch them on television and I know I’ll be able to go to the movies once more with Devin by my side.

There are so many astounding things about to know about Dezz.  He lives and works in Vojvodina, he has an MA in English and literature, and is a book translator.  If that’s not enough he’s also a psychologist, a fashion and interior designer, a journalist, he bakes and he’s handsome too!

This is one accomplished man and he took the time to bring his light, optimism and positive energy into my world.

For that, Dezz, I thank you.

  1. I absolutely adore Dez. He's one of the best things that has happened to me in the last year and now I'd feel lost without him in my life and I feel fortunate to have come to know him.

He's a beautiful man with a beautiful soul. And look at the expressive eyes our Dezzie has.

Thank you for posting this Elsie!!

    1. I am so grateful to you for recommending his blog to me, Anne. Dez had no idea how much he helps me overcome my trigger with movies. It is such a deeply ingrained trigger I'll talk about elsewhere but visiting his blog, seeing his passion for movies, television - the beauty in it and the people in it - has helped me move forward daily. He doesn't glorify anything negative on his site....even the pictures on his site are carefully chosen to be positive...and oober sexy (hello hot!)

He's also a kind hearted man and when I asked if I could do a dedication post to him he was completely flattered and honored. And, his eyes! Holy cow! Gorgeous!

    2. oooh ,ladies, flattery can get you far with me :)))
Annzie, I'm deeply touched with you saying what you said above, and that's why you're one of Dezzie's angels :)

Elsie, I did know people like my eyes (I even had strangers stopping me in the street and telling me that a couple of times) but thanks for giving me the compliment again :)

  4. "he's handsome" LOL, Elsie, love the joke :PPPP

I'm deeply touched whenever someone notices the moral compass in me and my website. That was exactly what I wanted to incorporate into the site back when I started it three years ago. I feel that so few people in the film sites world takes morals into notice when promoting films and shows, and that pains me a lot. The world has lost its compass long time ago, so at least we should try to settle our compasses to some more positive waters of more responsible ethics.

I'm also touched with your feeling that I've helped you in any kind of way. I feel that's the point of blogging. Touching and helping each other and reaching continents with the powers of a typed word.

    1. 'tis no joke, my Dezzie, you are one handsome man =)

I agree, somewhere along the line, the world lost it's moral compass and things became blurry about what's acceptable and what isn't. I like that I can come onto your website and see things that are "safe"...if that makes sense?

Dez, you help more than you'll even know...you rock!

I think I already follow that blog. I am a blog-emotionally awkward person, so I hope I dont say anything bad about Serbia. I havent tasted Serbia drink in my life.

    1. if you're into brandy, Serbia's national drink is "slivovitza", one of world's strongest brandies, usually kept in five star hotels as liquid gold :) It's made from plums.

      Delete
    2. @MaMTC-you'll love his blog, of that I'm sure. He has a heart of gold...much like the national drink...which sounds quite delicious even to someone like me who doesn't drink lol

@Dez - I don't even know if the States has a national drink..beer would be my guess? lol

      Delete
    3. "Serbia is a country???" was the message of my comment Dezz.
But Slivovitza sounds like a country and Serbia sounds like drink. Agree with me?

      Delete
    4. you mean you haven't heard of a country which is probably a thousand years older than yours? Interesting, interesting...

      Juz kidding. FYI.
Independent India is less than 100 years old. And British India is 200 years old. Before that there was no India. only small Hindu and mughal dynasties, provinces and countries.

      Delete
    6. I know you were kidding, and I know you know I don't do culture undermining jokes, and I don't approve of them. They are usually very ignorant and offensive and disrespectful towards rich and ancient cultures :(
I don't get your reference to India? Serbia has been, on and off, an independent state since early Middle Ages, not from yesterday.

    7. @ Dez - I am going to have to look up the food; I'll be the first to admit - I don't know the first thing about it...now you've got me curious =)

    12. yep, the viking woman is cat's concubine, I was, sadly, the one to discover their secret affair, and it wasn't a nice site, trust me.... let's just say he was doing something with her armpit hair.....

  7. Well the cat has gone off to lick his arse. So Pat will leave a comment too. Yeah Dez is all over the place too and keeps all informed in the movie world, has good taste for the most part, beside that God awful "The Fountain" I'll never let that one go..haha

Although you forgot his fascination with poo. Of course I suppose he only uses that with the cat. Glad I found the penguin man as well, still saying I found him first. Although I think it is his deep dark desire to go speed time with Freud, he brings him up alot lately.

Pat, shut up, BOOOOO once more. You alliance cronie. The cat just filled a pringle can and will be delivering it personally.

    11. @Pat - You're right. He who brings peace has good taste for the most part. I do need to send him a copy of The Thing, though, the one with Kurt, because it's all about finding love in the world. He just doesn't know it yet.

@Dezzmeister - On a serious note, thanks again for your advice.

@Elsie - 'Dez doesn’t have to take time out of his day for me, but he always does.' That's beautiful.
