Why Do You Call Us That?

Anyone ever wonder why I call you guys Hooligans?  No?  To bad, I’m going to tell you anyway.  I stole the term…or perhaps it sounds better if I say I’m permanently borrowing it from someone who I find absolutely inspiring; Anne over at Anne's Attic.

Through her I’ve found other wonderful bloggers, but today is about highlighting her and just how awe inspiring I find her.  Other bloggers, your day will come too.

Every time I think there can’t be anything more to this amazing lady, I learn another tid bit about her from her blog.  Just the other day, I learned she spoke another language.

See, the thing is…Anne is humble.  She helps people, without even realizing it (I think) and nurtures them.  Just like she’s doing with me now, with my trials with Devin.  She leaves uplifting comments, connects me to other bloggers who also leave lovable, supporting comments and so on…my blogging world grows and I grow with it.

I know if I announce tomorrow that my marriage is back on track, the divorce is off, Anne won’t judge me, she’ll continue to pray for me and for Devin and for my children.  It’s just her way to wish me the best and to support me, no matter what.

Her faith in God is strong.  It’s admirable to see.  Anne stands firm in her beliefs.  She is wicked smart.  She’s got a Ph.D in neuroscience, people!  She taught medicine AND ran a research lab.  She’s had research papers published…yeah…that wicked smart! Impressive, huh?

She survived her own adversities a few years back and she’s a devoted wife and mom.  Anne is into Wargaming, writes poetry and short stories, paints, sings, plays instruments, was in a band…she’s done it all, this lady!

It is an honor to call her my friend although we’ve never met or even spoken.  She continues to inspire me each and every day.  This lady rocks!

That is why you guys are called Hooligans…all because one day, Anne said it’s what she called her followers and I stole it.

  1. I call my people little freaks, and then Lady Gaga came and started calling her people little monsters :(

Annzie is our hero and love! Elsie, you should join me in my efforts to convince her she should write a book about her life!

    1. Thank you darling, but I think I've spilled enough beans here on Blogger to last me a while.

    2. yes, but you know you could help the world with your book, sister. If you touch just one soul with your story and give them strength to survive their own hardships, it would be a huge gift to the world.

    3. @ Dez- Wait a minute...you've been telling HER to write a book? She's been saying the same to me!

      Do you like Lady Gaga?

@Anne-I agree with Dez, I think you could inspire a lot of people with your strength of what you've been through, which out of respect for your privacy I didn't share on my blog, but I know you shared on yours. Your story is amazing, Anne.

  2. And I keep telling you to write a book remember *taps foot*. And you've inspired me as well Elsie. Remember when I did the post about my first husbands death? I could only face that and post it because I'd been reading your blog and you talked so candidly about the loss of your husband.

The truly nice thing about blogger is the interaction between all of us and how we come to know each other, inspire each other and oftentimes just entertain each other.

Thank you for writing this my Co-Mistress of Hooliganville!

My book has already been started; names and dates have been changed to protect the guilty LOL

I remember that post about your first husband, it broke my heart, but I'm glad I was able to help you by talking about Senior.

I never expected this when I signed up for Blogger - never! It's fantastic!

You are most welcome Co-Mistress of Hooliganville =)

  4. So I seen your last post on the other blog and read the words "Final post" and I was like WTF? NOOOOO! Then I realized it was just the last one for that url and then I was like WHEW! Blogging just wouldn't be the same without you around!

And yes, Anne is an incredible and amazing woman! I often wonder if there is anything this woman CAN'T do... it doesn't look like it!

One of the things I like the most about her is that, after all she has been through, she has the strength to keep pushing on. Such a strong woman she is!

I remember when she first visited my blog! She was so thrilled that she found my blog! She made me feel like I was one of the best out there! She encouraged me and lifted my spirits because at the time, I wasn't too impressed with my blog. I've come a long way since then, and if it wasn't for her, I might not be blogging anymore.

As an added bonus, she is funny... very funny! And a woman with a good sense of humor is like a pot of gold for a man!

    1. Sorry, Dan, didn't mean to scare the pants off of ya!

I know, she's crazy talented and so inspiring. She's done the same thing for me with my blog - made me feel good about it. Made me realize I can blog about the painful stuff and mix in the funny stuff to and if people like it, they will stay, if not - it's okay.

And, she is extremely funny! Plus, I know you love that she posts the boobies for you guys.

    2. You see, the thing is... (I'm whispering now) my new friend Anne is so smart she's the only blogowoman I wouldn't dare make fun of. (still whispering) Unless, of course, she and Mr Dazzling Dezzy the Hollywood Spy are teaming up against my friend Pat the Cat Hatt... then I've got no choice.

  8. Oh NO! You are helping the alliance. We can't have that. The cat has forsaken you now. Final comment!

hmmm maybe not. The cat can't keep his mouth shut. Hmmm I think I have to make up a name for people too. The zombie feet squad! Fleas on Knees! Mime Killers! Okay maybe not.

Yeah Anne is surely inspiring indeed. Learn something new every day about her shedding her crazy Irish Air personna. Always helping others as well. That came from Pat by the way, the cat would never say.

  9. I am kinda sorta partial to the alliance you know...their banter is extremely entertaining to read lol

  12. When I grew up hooligans were synonymous with hoodlums, rough and rowdy types. Come to think of it that's probably not too far off from the crowd who gathers here, but we all are marshmallows at heart! :-)
